Initial reaction to Francis Ford Coppola’s YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH

Being bound by honor not to review the film before it opens, I don’t think I’ll be taking any vino off of Francis’ dining room table by giving a flash reaction.

Midway through the screening, Lori Saxon, half of San Diego cinema’s equivalent of Nick & Nora Charles, turned to her “better” half Fred and asked, “Where is this going?”

“I think we already passed it,” was Fred’s response.

My sentiments exactly.

That’s what happens when you speak bad of Mr. Scorsese!

Looks like the horse’s head is back on Coppola’s extra-wide-smelling-like-overpriced-wine bed!
