Marty be jammin’ in dreads, mon!
Inspired by the positive response to the Rolling Stones concert film Shine a Light at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, Martin Scorsese, Steve Bing’s Shangri-La Entertainment and i Fortissimo Films will reunite for a soon-to-be-titled documentary on Reggae pioneer Bob Marley.
Variety reports that Tuff Gong Pictures and Shangri-La are producing the picture, which has been authorized by Marley’s family. The Feb. 6, 2010 release will coincide with what would have been Marley’s 65th birthday.
“I am thrilled that the Marley family will finally have the opportunity to document our father’s legacy and are truly honored to have Mr. Scorsese guide the journey,” son Ziggy Marley said.
That was very nicely stated. I like the respectful tone in his words. It shows a good spirit. Ziggy can be trusted not to break the omerta.
