George Takei DID invite William Shatner to his gay wedding

Where’s Shatner?
Do you think George Takei regrets that Jack Lord turned down the role of Captain Kirk?
As it turns out Mr. Sulu is dumbfounded by his former costar William Shatner’s video rant about not being invited to his recent civil wedding to Brad Altman.
“It is absolutely baffling to us because, in fact, we did invite Bill and we didn’t hear from him. But it wasn’t surprising because it’s true to his history. He’s never responded to an invitation. Every time there was something happy to celebrate amongst us … he never showed up.”
Was Shatner at James Doohan’s funeral?
Takei’s interview will air on this evening’s installment of Entertainment Tonight.”
He laughed off Shatner’s allegation that he doesn’t even know Takei very well. “We’ve done six movies together,” marvels Takei, “we did three seasons of television together, we’ve been doing Star Trek conventions together for the last 40-plus years.”
No one can call George Takei “sick” and “psychotic” and expect to get away with it. Sulu shot back: “I think his stability is quite questionable. … Bill likes to be the star of the show. He likes the attention that is focused on him. It’s a big, shiny, demanding ego. … It’s all typical of Bill. … [His] ranting and raving is just silliness.”
As for the wedding invite, Takei said, “We keep reaching out and reaching out, and he takes that and twists it and crumples it and turns it into something that’s rather ugly. … I’ll keep extending a hand to him.” How about a fist?

William Shatner pities “sick,” “psychotic” George Takei
October 23rd, 2008 by Scott Marks

While America waits patiently for John McCain to pull a “Bullworth,” it was TV’s Captain Kirk that publicly went ballistic over his old Starfleet cabin mate. Lt. Cmdr. Sulu. Oh, my!
William Shatner can’t seem to get his mind around the fact that he purposely wasn’t invited to George Takei’s civil wedding ceremony to longtime boyfriend Brad Altman. “There is such a sickness there,” Shatner said. “It’s so patently obvious that there is a psychosis there. I don’t know what his original thing about me was. I have no idea.”
Do you live in a cave, Bill? How many times does Sulu have to call you a difficult, obnoxious asshole on The Howard Stern Show before it sinks in?
Shatner states that no one really cared when the 71-year-old Takei recently came out of the closet. “He has continued to speak badly about me for all these years. Obviously, hiding his homosexuality — talk about festering and not living the truth of your life and feeling badly about yourself — and being fearful somebody would find out about this terrible, terrible secret, so he thought,” Shatner said.
“Finally at the age of, I think, 70, he decides to come out of the closet and say, ‘I’m gay.’ … Like, who cares? Be gay. Don’t be gay. That’s up to you George.”
Mr. Unbearable Egomaniac also took time to slight his co-stars limited participation in the Star Trek enterprise. “I didn’t know him very well on the series. He would come in for a day or two, as evidenced by the part he played,” Shatner said. “Then on the movies, there occasionally. I didn’t know the man.
“It’s sad. I feel nothing but pity for him.”
Sounds like someone is secretly jealous that they are not Mrs. Hikaru Sulu.
