EC Live Blog for Chabad Telethon this Sunday!

Last week’s live Jerry Lewis Telethon blog was so much fun, why not do it again with another, entirely different marathon fundraiser?

This Sunday marks the annual Chabad Telethon and I for one could not be more delighted. Where else are you going to see Hasidim dancing with ladders on their chins or goyisha kup Jon Voight wearing a tallis or big shot Hollywood producer Jerry Weintraub deliver pleas that make Kup sound like James Earl Jones? Next to Jerry’s annual love in (and in some cases better than Jerry) there is no finer Telethon on the planet than the one thrown by that zany band of Lubavitcher rabbis.

Who or what does Chabad help? According to West Coast Chabad director Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, “With the donations made during the telethon, Chabad will be able to provide food, clothing, shelter, and hope to thousands of people of all faiths.”

The telethon will air live in New York, Los Angeles and San Diego starting this Sunday from 5 - 11 pm PCT. For those of you not in the select viewing areas, visit ToLife.com for the live streaming broadcast. To blog along with me, click here.

Dust off your frock coats and tzitzis, braid your pais, and stay up and watch the Jews come out this Sunday as EC merrily follows the dancing Yidlach !

Where is a 90 mph foul ball when you need one?
