KPBS Film Club reviews “Inglourious Basterds,” “Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg,” “Thirst,” “Taking Woodstock”

Quentin Tarantino and his cast on the set of “Inglourious Basterds”
Before you jump down my throat, I did make one error on today’s show. No, I wasn’t wrong for slamming “Taking Woodstock.” During our review of “Yoo Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg,” I erroneously stated that the two actors that played Amos & Andy were black. I meant to say they were Swedish.
Aside from that, all was well. Enjoy as Beth and I actually agree on all four films! Must be the heat.

KPBS Film Club returns to the air tomorrow with reviews of 4 new movies

A scene from Chan-Wook Park’s “Thirst”
The KPBS Film Club of the Air, which was closed last month due to Comic-Con, finally returns tomorrow morning with reviews of four new movies.
Of course, we’ll lead with a discussion of Quentin Tarantino’s rousing genre picture “Inglourous Basterds,” a movie that both Beth and I enjoyed immensely. We’ll also discuss Aviva Kempner’s spellbinding history lesson “Yoo Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg,” Chan-Wook Park’s Korean vampire epic “Thirst” and Ang Lee’s “Taking Woodstock,” a celebration of love, peace, music and cultural and religious stereotyping.
Listen to the live broadcast at 10 am on KPBS-Radio, 89.5 on your FM dial. For those of you poor souls that son’t live in sunny San Diego, I’ll post a link to the podcast tomorrow afternoon.
