Jamie Lee Curtis stole drugs from sister to get high

Jamie Lee Curtis: Reformed Everything

There is nothing worse than a reformed druggie, especially one that can’t seem to get her career back on track.

In a frank interview (aka: a desperate endeavor to get people to notice her), Jamie Lee Curtis told More Magazine that she was once so desperately hooked on drugs that she stole painkillers from her sister. Wouldn’t she have been better off raiding dad Tony Curtis’ medicine cabinet?

In addition to getting high, Ms. Curtis also drank heavily to combat bouts of “loneliness.” It appears as though her greatest acting role was keeping her myriad of addictions a secret from loved ones. According to the interview, no one knew. Her husband Christopher Guest “didn’t have a clue,” she said.

The actress, quick to damn Hollywood’s obsession with eternal youth, was one of the first of her breed to stuff implants in her chest. Fifteen years ago a cameraman told her that she was developing bags under her eyes, so she immediately called a plastic surgeon.

Rightfully fearing that audiences no longer found her physically attractive, she began washing down prescription meds with booze to help ease the post-operative pain.

She says: ‘I attempted various types of plastic surgery, minutely but enough to stave off this encroaching middle-aged body. And every time I did, something went wrong. I felt misshapen, just not natural any more. I think it was a big stimulator of my drug abuse.’

Sister Kelly stayed at Jamie Lee’s mansion while she was recuperating from a broken bone. It was at that time Jamie starting pinching her sister’s stash of painkillers. In a letter that was written but never sent, Jamie wrote, “‘I’ve been harboring a bad secret. I have found and taken many of your painkillers. I’ve betrayed you, and I know that you’re angry, and you have every right to be. I am lonely. I take them at night to ease the pain. I was so afraid to tell you.”

Jamie Lee now works as a volunteer counselor on anti-drug campaigns. Her advice to recovering addicts is to keep reminders of their shame – such as the letter that she wrote to her sister. Look how it came in handy when JLC needed a PR tools to get her name back in the headlines.

She says she successfully kicked her habit nine years ago after becoming concerned about the toll her addiction was taking on her daughter. What would celebrities do without their children? How else are they going to make excuses for lousy life and career choices?

As of late, the reformed everything has tucked in her tits and started publicly lecturing Miley Cyrus’ parents for their daughter’s recent spate of public embarrassments. Eddie Murphy and Robert DeNiro “act” in unwatchable family fare all in the name of appearing in something their offspring can watch, and guilt-stricken Jamie Lee is no better. She traded in her “scream queen” title for a series of low rent family productions. With recent career choices like Daddy and Them, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys and Christmas With the Kranks, it’s no wonder she’s spilling her guts to the tabloids. It was either that or going the born again route.

At least give her credit for not turning to Jesus as a career move.
