Judge allows Verne Troyer sex tape clip to return to TMZ

Here’s a shock: The co-star in the Verne Troyer sex tape is the one responsible for selling a clip of the video to TMZ.

After a 25-second snippet of the 50-minute video appeared on the celebrity gossip website, Mini-Me, alleging that the tape was stolen, sued TMZ for $20 Million. A judge ordered that it be taken down immediately and barred TMZ from showing or broadcasting any portion of the tape on its Web site or TV show. The post was restored by Tuesday evening..

Ranae Shrider, Verne’s ex-girlfriend, says she gave TMZ permission to broadcast a brief clip of the tape. Shrider, signed a declaration filed in federal court in Los Angeles stating the tape was created with her video camera. Her statement prompted a judge to allow TMZ to reinstate a post featuring snippets of the tape.

The video was brought it to dealer Kevin Blatt, the quantum physicist who brokered the deal for the Paris Hilton video. The judge has still barred SugarDVD, a porn distributor named in Troyer’s $20 million lawsuit, from distributing or taking orders for the tape.

In her statement, Shrider says she believes she also owns the tape, but so far has only given permission to TMZ to air it.

TMZ ordered to take down Verne Troyer sex tape snippet

TMZ has been ordered to take down 25-second video clip showing ankle-high freak of nature Verne Troyer romancing a former girlfriend. Troyer claims that the sex tape was stolen from his home months ago.

CNN reports that on Friday, a federal judge granted a temporary restraining order requested by Troyer’s attorneys that prevents porn distributors from taking orders for the full-length video. It also prevents TMZ from broadcasting any more clips.

The celebrity Web site posted the short segment on its site Wednesday; Troyer sued the site and porn distributors Thursday for $20 million in damages.

U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez wrote that Troyer’s motion “demonstrated that he will suffer irreparable harm to his reputation” if the tape is distributed. The only harm the little shaver will experience is a loss of revenue accumulated from video sales.

The ruling barred further broadcasting of the tape, which Troyer’s attorney, Tracy Rane, interpreted as meaning that TMZ has to remove the video from its site. The clip was removed late Friday afternoon.

The lawsuit claims TMZ invaded his privacy in addition to copyright infringement. He is also seeking the return of all copies of the video. In a shocking revelation, Troyer asserted that he never intended it to be shown publicly.

Mini-Me Verne Troyer sues TMZ.com for $20 Million over Sex Tape

While his latest film The Love Guru continues to attract dozens of patrons nationwide, pint-sized Verne ‘Tripod’ Troyer’s upcoming release could rake in millions. After TMZ released a 25 second clip of Mini-Me in action with a former girlfriend, Verne Troyer filed a $20 million lawsuit, claiming the website violated his rights by publishing and airing portions of his sex tape.

Troyer’s suit (or was it a brief) was filed today in U.S. District Court in downtown L.A. According to TMZ, “Troyer claims TMZ violated his privacy rights and infringed on his copyright and trademark by running portions of the tape on TMZ TV and TMZ.com. He also alleges TMZ violated his right of publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness.”

Pardon me if none of this rings true. With all of the recent sex tape scandals, anyone that decides to immortalize their passion in pixels had best beware and stash the evidence in a safe deposit box. Troyer claims the tape was stolen and ended up in the hands of Kevin Blatt, the Joseph E. Levine of celebrity smut, who distributed One Night in Paris. Blatt is also named as a defendant.

Hey, Kevin - If you really want to do the world a service, why not break into Jerry Lewis’ office and pilfer a copy of The Day the Clown Cried? There are at least six Emulsion Compulsion regulars that would pay $19.95 for a dub.

In addition to damages, Troyer wants an injunction prohibiting further dissemination of the video, unless of course there is a demand for the tape and Mini gets a huge cut of the profits.

Mini-Me Verne Troyer stars in sex tape

TMZ.com has obtained footage from a sex tape starring everyone’s favorite dwarf Verne Troyer. Since former Howard Stern wack-packer Hank Nassif drank himself to oblivion, it appears as if Troyer is vying for the prestigious title of Verne, the Angry Drunken Dwarf.

The video, undoubtedly shot on macro-cassette, depicts Troyer and his former live-in girlfriend at the couple’s apartment. Even funnier than watching Verne stick his tongue in her mouth is the copy of The Power Actor on the floor beside the bed. Who read it to him?

Mike Myers and company exploited the little lug in both Austin Powers pictures, but the high point of his career came on VH1’s The Surreal Life when a drunken Verne couldn’t control himself and peed in a corner. That’s why television was invented!

The tape saw the light of day after a third party brought it to dealer Kevin Blatt, the genius who brokered the deal for the Paris Hilton video. According to TMZ, he is entertaining a $100k offer from SugarDVD to distribute the hotness.
